Bc it’s a complex system that becomes unnecessary complicated. As an analyst, Gurley can’t develop a mathematical model to describe. It’s not mathematically feasible with a certain accuracy and precision.

He and Ferris have had a few good stories on his podcast.

I subscribe. Even started emulating his style at work, sans the draw that almost sounds drunk.

No one is that stupid. Regulatory capture is the problem and the first thing that Gurley suggested to solve it is increased transparency.
Increased transparency so people can see what is actually happing, which is the first step to stopping it altogether.

He said the “first step” is increased transparency.

Why transparency if you’re not going to regulate at all?

Anyway, our corporate overloads must love you and your willingness to hand over the keys to the kingdom without any resistance.

:)

Germany's Covid tests were 1/6 the price because Germany has NO RE GLUE ATIONS !! :) )
Hmm. No.

Germany has a different system than us and is notoriously tough. PEI has given me many headaches, some earned and some bogus at that phase of development. The HTA process is very rigorous and the G-BA and IQWiG price fairly.

The whole entire point of his presentation was how regulation is THE problem.

Doesn't your job exist because of environmental regulations (do you do UST testing for CARB regulations/requirements, am I remembering correctly?)?

So if it stopped, you think there would be as big demand for your services/skill?

I’d do something else.

BTW, all the regs that make people have to hire me were put in place with urging of lobbyists for Shell and it - by design - put all of the ma and pa retailers out of business. Exactly like what is described in the video i posted.

You‘re too dumb for me to continue. You can’t seem to grasp the fact that huge corporations are the driving force for these regulations.

I figure anyone running their own UST testing (or pressurized tank/line/etc testing) firm would be able to figure something out, but a job transition is an interruption and that would still be money off the plate for a bit, right? Though what I don't know would fill books, so.....

CARB came about through air pollution and people wanting to do something about it (for better quality of living). Doesn't surprise me an enterprising entity like Royal Dutch Petroleum dba Shell would figure a way out to get back the service stations that they had franchised out. Creative humans figuring out how to turn things into their favor leads to unintended consequences since forever. I don't know how we'll ever get away from this...damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I’ve changed careers a few times already. I already have my eyes on the exit door for the one I’m in now.

Might just retire, but there are other opportunities that are presenting themselves as we speak.

Im only still in it now because of the money.

Are you actually unable to distinguish between regulations and regulatory captures?

Do you actually believe that all regulators are captured?

Are you so naive as to think that RC is the only way that big business and government work together to screw the public? The Supreme Court ruled for Citizens United, for instance, despite bipartisan opinion. How does that work?! Court capture?
