Is this coil Ivan South of the border? If so was wondering what happen to you:shaka:
I've been lurking around the forum, but right now I don't have much knowledge to share that hasn't been shared already. That and I've found new hobbies (wannabe mechanic and soon wannabe welder), bought a house, remodeling the house, that kind of stuff.

Can't imagine leaving this place, learned a lot and hope I can keep on sharing that with the newbies and veterans alike.
:waving:

but enough thread hijacking

Anyone got a read on either supergoop, eltaMD or paulas choice resist?

these are my options in the drawer, beggars can’t be choosers and I’m not sending my wife out to buy more stuff.

i generally just cover up. Big ole goofy straw hat, upf long sleeve, lip screen.

Supergoop's Unseen Sunscreen is really nice. I use my wife's when she's not looking. It feels kind of greasy going on, but seems to disappear. It's only 40 minutes sweat/water resistant though, so not great for marathon sessions.

Shiseido.

$25/50ml.

YOLO!

Actually, Shiseido does make great products.
I bought some of this and tried it yesterday on my 10 day family trip in Costa Rica. It felt really nice going on, maybe a little greasy at first, but that went away. It smelled good and my wife remarked that it felt like Supergoop's Unseen Sunscreen, that she loves. I walked about 20 minutes to the Avellanas estero, paddled out and was as soon as my head went underwater, I was in misery. The stinging never let up for the two hour session. My wife spent a second under water diving under a wave and her eyes stung until she toweled the water off her eyelids. I went back to my usual Banana Boat Sport 30 that I use at home and surfed for three hours this morning without incident.

I've used the little Shiseido tinted sticks for the last 15 years on surf trips and was hoping this 50 spf lotion would would be another great product, but it was a total let down for both me and my wife.

Think with Shishedo, the tinted stick is the way to go. The lotion no real advantage over anything else. The clear stick is chemical rather physical (zinc/titanium based).

whatz consensus on avobenzone?
Reef bleaching chemmy trash, maaaan.

Some of that stuff, like the chemmy Neutrogena, is probably great for spending a fair bit of time outside away from the water around women you are attempting to mount where you don't want to be all physical blockers smeared about the grill.

But for anything where you're not among 'polite society' having a snob-off, oxidized metal is victorious.
