I think they are over doing it.The bench press isolates the chest and shoulders.
It's not a rotator cuff strengthening exercise.
I've seen this firsthand - elite level swimmers pretty common knowledge to stay the fook away from the bench press.
Meniscus R legWhat are your injuries?
Probably, but I still surf 2-3x per week and bench twice a week.I would guess at this point you're probably not doing much swimming, surfing, or water poloing.
That's not an attack, I'm just saying I probably get a lot more water time than you.
Probably not. This is the back cover of Dave Salo's book. I'm only seeing weaklings. Best thing to do is just not lift weights if you're worried about it. I don't have a strong opinion on whether you bench, but the bench and OHP assist each-other. I also don't know how you can have such a strong opinion without having a 1000 lb total. My sources are very reliable with this - trained Olympic swimmers.
I would think they're pretty dialed in.
bruised ego i believe. What are your injuries?
low bar squat if u can learn how. i can teach u but u gotta come up to the ocMeniscus R leg

Have you forgiven your mom/girlfriend for all the canned beer and box wine she drank while pregnant?Nice pecs for the chicks or more likely for the dudes one lifts with.
You should take your dumb book back to the library and just think of the bench press as the squat for the upper body. Damn near every muscle in your body will be used when properly executing the bench press. Or better yet...if you don;;t like the answers stop asking questions. It probably trains your zygomaticus too.
The main area it's meant to train is the chest, however.
I actually have a strength training anatomy book right next to me
