Maybe a spin off from some of the other threads pending but I'm looking for everyones thoughts on the best beach break daily driver? and best construction? for most conditions from thigh to overhead? EPS or poly? Rap ripper? Phantom? Fling?

Stamps GX is my “I dunno what I’m gonna encounter“ daily driver at Southern California points, reefs and beach breaks and has done fine.

where you surfing? my DD for northern california is 5” longer than my DD south of pt conception (5’10 vs 6’3)

Often I take 2 boards and most times I end up riding my mini simmons with quads setup. Waves in sd are soft unless we get a huge swell imo.

Surfing beach breaks in Sydney, I can definitely recommend the HS untitled. Mine’s in future flex, but I’m sure the PU/epoxy version is fine as well. Its sweet spot is from around stomach high to slightly overhead and prefers waves that have some curve

To the OP. Here is the answer. You can thank me later.

I got to watch Cory ride this board in way overhead barreling beachbreak and I have never seen a groveler perform so well in heavy waves. He got one of the longest tube rides I've witnessed in person on this thing. Click links below for board in action.

That's cause he's cory. grovelers and semi grovelers don't work for crap in good waves for average surfers (at least in my experience)

It's been pretty good in LA's South Bay beach breaks the last couple of weeks and I started grabbing my 5'11 CI Fever in Spine-Tek over my 5' 9” CI Neck Beard 2 in Varial. I forgot how good the Fever is at almost everything from waist to 3-4' overhead.
