Read all about it, Howard says a vote for Barack Obama is a vote for Al Qaeda!

In a speech at the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln, Senator Obama announced his candidacy, and reiterated his plan to withdraw all U.S. combat troops from Iraq by March 31, 2008, as called for in a bill he recently introduced in the Senate. Obama has been a vocal opponent of the Iraq War from the beginning.

Howard criticized Senator Obama's plan on Australian television, saying any withdrawal by U.S. forces in March 2008 "can only be seen in circumstances of defeat" for the U.S.-led coalition.

Speaking in an interview on Channel Nine, Howard said he believed the Senator's plan was "wrong" and would only encourage those who wish to "destabilize and destroy Iraq."

In a controversial statement, he went on to say that, were he leader of the Al Qaeda forces in Iraq, he would "put a circle around March 2008 and pray, as many times as possible, for a victory not only for Obama but also for the Democrats."

I'm sick and tired of limp-wristed liberals emboldening our enemies!
-----------------

Marine Gen. Peter Pace said an early or precipitous withdrawal from Iraq would be a disaster for Iraqis and embolden U.S. enemies around the world.

The following comes from Al Jazeera, virtually ensuring that our enemies are reading about how the democrats are emboldening them!
---------------------
Gates: It's pretty clear that a resolution that in effect says that the general going out to take command of the arena shouldn't have the resources he thinks he needs to be successful certainly emboldens the enemy and our adversaries,"

Barak Obama's 'limp-wristed' response:

"I think it's flattering that one of George Bush's allies on the other side of the world started attacking me the day after I announced," Senator Obama said in Iowa.

"I would also note that we have close to 140,000 troops in Iraq, and my understanding is Mr Howard has deployed 1,400, so if he is … to fight the good fight in Iraq, I would suggest that he calls up another 20,000 Australians and sends them to Iraq.

"Otherwise it's just a bunch of empty rhetoric."
Stop eroding the morale of our troops and emboldening our enemies by talking about failure.

We do not go to war to fail. To be labelled losers. We go to crush our enemies, to see them fall at our feet, and to hear the lamentation of their women.

"I'm sick and tired of limp-wristed liberals emboldening our enemies!"

I'm sick and tired of lame liberal posts.
Face it, probably more than 95% of all political posts on this BB began with some liberal bullshit.
You, in fact, were one of the worst.

So now we end up with a "political forum" stuck in end of the strip mall of the BB.
Right next to the Indian Food Emporium and the Scotch Tape Store.
Where old liberals try to pose as the new and enlightened right.

Yet liberals still start threads, they just have to pose as conservatives these days.
You should really stop posing, then...

Liberal fun is just starting....mark my words...they are gonna jack the minimum wage, boost spending on Medicare/Medicaid, put in trade sanctions against China, and wonder why the CPI jumps 15% in one year....

And gay marriage for everyone!

Dumb uneducated liberals...probably won't even support our troops, and will continue to erode troop morale and embolden our enemies by talking about voluntary defeat measures.

I enjoy reading your posts because they seem to be sincere and intelligently considered. How have your political opinions shifted from say, about 10 years ago?

Perhaps Blakestah does have good reasons for his current political persuation. Or maybe my post was hyperbole.

My political opinions have not really shifted, at all. And in no way should any political post I make on the erBB be misconstrued for anything I actually believe, that may or may not be the case.

Mostly I just try to formulate arguments to annoy the biggest jerk on the erBB.

That used to trade off between fracas and Disco Tex, but lately Skully has really pulled ahead. He's WAY WAY ahead, and DT and fracas are left in the dust.

Am I really a 'jerk'? Sure I post a lot about politics and have some strong opinions but how often do I have to mask my lack of points with insults like Disco. Or if I can't make a case simply call the opposition a 'liar' like Fracas.
You go out of your way to policitically lobby on a surfing BB.

Of course you are a jerk.

Couching yourself by comparisons to Disco Tex and Fracas...come on, that's REALLY supposed to be taken seriously....the reason I switched sides of arguments is ONLY because you insist on politically lobbying twice as much as DT and fracas combined....

Bassy never created an entirely new board for either of them!

You are in a class all your own.

But unlike disco fracas and others I've adhered to this political forum for my political posts since its creation (disclaimer: I have responded to political threads in the main forum created by others) I've respected Bassy's decision to create a political forum and I've used it for its intended purpose. If politics bother you so much stick to the surfer discussion. I'm not forcing your hand to click my threads and to respond to them. Clearly something compels you to. And as I said above...you've failed miserably at annoying me. You entertained me and caused me to post more content.
Lemme start by saying this is not a political BB. It is an offshoot of the surfingBB here ONLY to keep politics off the main board.

There are hundreds of political BBs around the internet. And even some people who have a reasonable grasp of the issues and can do better than recite Dean-speak on those BBs.

If you've been around here enough, you've probably surfed with someone on the erBB, met someone on the erBB, borrowed a board from someone on the erBB, loaned a board to someone on the erBB, provided useful surfing info to someone on the erBB, etc. I've done each of these multiple times.

I cannot see, in your time here, that you've done ANY of that.

It really looks like you are someone who thought surfers were a good target marketing demographic on which to spam DNC messages.

Sure, the same can be said of others, but you are BY FAR the worst offender.
