The start of this 'insurection' was the Russian Army Defense Minister, who has been mocked and insulted by Prighozin as being fully responsible for the Ukraine disaster, giving the Wagner group until July 1 to sign contracts putting them under Army control, at which point Prighozin would likely have been arrested.

Russia has been building defense lines for a year. They had an impossible task last year during the summer offensive....way too much territory to hold. Now that the lines are reduced their defense is concentrated. These still aren't professional troops and they still run during contact but this contact is meter by meter.Legit source for news of this nature, of course
It underscores the disgusting way the West has approached this whole thing. Give the Ukrainians enough to survive and barely enough to advance but not what's needed coupled with doing nothing sanction wise to cripple Russias ability to fund the war. Russian aviation is the difference here. Not giving the Ukrainians a way to counter this is driving up the body count and, while it's hard to imagine Russia ever getting better at war ...giving the Russians time to come up with a competent strategy aside from bodies and scorched earth.
The only conclusion you can draw from this is that the West doesn't give a sh!t about Ukraine...this is about embarrassing Russia and showing China that everything they worked at for the past 20 years geopolitically was a house of cards.
