Its been very hit and miss of late in the southwest, from 0 feet to monster swells. You could get skunked or lucky depends on what you sacrifice to the gods.
Bring at least a 4/3 and boots, maybe a 5 mil and gloves if you live in so cal!
Practice reversing, there’s loTs of beaches accessed by single track lanes ( one car wide with traffic allowed both ways)

have scored and been skunked on previous trips! have a 4/3 over there and good selection of boards to use, my cousin is a big surfer. he’s been sending me pics of some great surf .
