I think he is here for 3-4 weeks to shape some boards and for the Trestles contest. My best friend is getting a Blak Box shaped with a AI style airbrush on it. I wondered how you can see white lines on a white blank but whatever.

I was listening to the most recent "Down the Line Surf Talk Radio" podcast and they had JS on it. He mentioned spending sometime in Cali. That Kingpin board of there's has gone on my surfboard wish list. Anybody ridden that board? thoughts?

Demoe'd a 5'8" Dyno the other week in some super junk. My dims are 5'10, 180. Average ability.
Couldn't believe how well it planed up, and how fast it went out of the hole.
I was fitting a couple of maneuvers in per wave where I didn't expect to. Also surprised to be able to hit the the lip on it.
Down sides were it seemed to have a hard time biting into a steeper section and when it got going a certain speed, it felt like it was riding on too much air- the nose started to go from side to side.
Overall I was having a blast until the damn thing separated my nostril from my face on a closeout barrel. I brought it back, once a board has tasted blood...

JS boards, in America, will be shaped by Russell Hoyte and Marlin Bacon, so you know there's a great craftsman finishing the shape right here in San Diego.
