No - I did not spout off saying that - but 2 here said there was proof it was NOT a deterrent
if you're dead it would be a deterrent to you committing any crime, Kill everyone and there will 100% be no crime

Certainty of punishment is a deterrent to crime, of course, but not an absolute deterrent.

The death penalty is deleterious for society in general and persons who endorse it are regressive. Check out which countries and cultures support the death penalty. Would you want to be included with them?

How is the death penalty deleterious for society?

The nuts and bolts arguments against it, mainly costs, are due to an overly-litigious climate around it.

And of course it's about feelings; vengeance is a normal human emotion. I thought you guys were all about developing policy around feelings?
