Yep - Album and Almond are the same build as the Formula Fun. Got a deal on the mine (also a bit on an impulse buy) but the FF pricing is about right.

I remember the beef going further back than that. Back when …lost clothing/marketing was still relevant.

mayhem took swipes at folks saying …lost were surfboards first, marketing second, not the other way around like some other SC outfits.

LOL. That is a funny burn on album, But a bit disengenuous. lost built their brand and sold a lot of boards in the 90/00s off the videos and marketing the anti-establishment lifestyle/partying. Not sure how good the boards actually were back then... and how much of it was the world class talent he hooked up with: Wardo, Cory, Shea, AI, Bruce, Besch.

Finally got to pull out my 6'3" Townsend with the new Album Gemini fins in some head high sets. Wow talk about a difference on the fins. This is the fin I've been looking for all this time for the Townsend. Super loose and maneuverable. Made the board twice as playful for me on the face and gave me some more pivot. Felt like i was turning on a much shorter board. I like my boards loose and these are spot on for that! Great fin for this board.

I probably should of mentioned also these are the smaller gemini template. The 5.3's. Pretty small uprights compared to the other handful of upright sets I own, but was what I was looking for. I feel like with the pin and the long rail not much is needed for me. Maybe at some point I'll grab the larger version also since I dig the template.

Snapped a comparison with the Album Upright Twins for anybody that's curious while I had my camera out.

- Tip area utilizes neutral foil allowing water and energy to “load up and twist off” allowing predictable projection and positive drive
  • - Iconic beak tip with leading and trailing edge intersections allows for more consistent fluidity along full span to reduce turbulent build up and provide control in waves from slow to “oh sh!t!” speeds.

don’t biolos and parker beef?

havent heard a peep out of biolos since around when Kerr rode Mayhem for a week and then switched to Albums, and rode them to the moon.
There is def. a backstory with Album. Never got the goods from OT but guessing its a good one.

It's a pretty unexciting and well known tale and pretty much any shaper who's been around can tell you it. The short version: a computer, marketing skills, and a cool looking glass job go a long way.

"I was picking up boards from the glasser and there's tons of boards with these pricey glassjobs lined up...I asked who it was...I had never heard of this guy."
