Does it make you sad when your diagnosis rings hollow?

You rode “3 or 4” Albums and “don’t know” which models they were. They were owned by an unnamed pro.Said pro may live a few houses down from me when he’s in town.

Let's be honest and give credit where credit is due - that's Rob Brown's aesthetic and talent from way back - not Matt Parker's.That figures, when I think of aesthetically well designed board art Album is top of mind.
Hmm, perhaps Duffy's remarkable deductive reasoning is not so remarkable after all.Let's be honest and give credit where credit is due - that's Rob Brown's aesthetic and talent from way back - not Matt Parker's.
No "art school".
One of my favorites. He’s a master.Great board
I have a 6'4 x 20.5 x 2.5 Varial Vesper. It's a great board and is super versatile. The outline is very different than a Lightbender, at least mine is. Plasmic bottom , nose is more pulled in than my LB (now sold) , wide point slightly further back and tail is wider. Has a bit more rocker as well. Less fishy than the LB. Can get away with groveling but really shines when there is some push. For this aging subpar surfer, it's been a very user friendly, fun board to surf. Only have about 10 sessions under my belt, and each session gets better and better. Would highly recommend it. Here are some pics when it was in the shaping bay. Those vespers sold pretty quickly. Looks like a fun board. Lightbender outline with plasmic type bottom? I’d be down to try one but too much quiver overlap in that zone for right now. Not sure why album has to be so controversial for folks. If you like them, great! If not, that’s cool too. It’s cool to talk about how a board wasn’t a great fit for you and why. It’s lame to go around dumping on models and shapers just cause you can’t wrap your head around it.
let me know if you end up ordering a new one. Those dims on the varial sound good to me!I scored a Varial Bom Dia a few months back for cheap. It’s a 6’2 19.75 2.56 IIRC. If I was ordering custom I probably would have ordered a 6’0 around 32 L. mMy idea was to use it for larger fat beachbreak where it can dump but also has big flat spots. Finally got to try it today and was stoked. Paddled effortlessly but ripped when an oppurtunity presented itself. Kinda tempted to order a 6’0 but I’m already working with Stamps on a step up order so prolly wait till next spring.
Does the body mechanics of heel side turn match the body mechanics of a toe side turn? No it doesn’t. In practice symmetry in a surfboard is actually a dumb idea. A properly setup asym will compensate for the difference in body mechanics. For folks who have ridden the Bom Dia or the Disorder, how much of a difference does the asymmetric fin setup make? It seems interesting, but it's hard to wrap my head around. OB is a treasure trove of surprises which makes it hard for me to wrap my head around asym fin setups. Seems like fins in the same location would equate to a more consistent feeling board. Should I reconsider?
