My flare has a bit of vee with some additional rail ricker from the stoke build. I love it.

We're all different. I could see someone who almost exclusively rides tomors not getting along with a lot of designs.

Hey, we got frosty to by a US made board, we should be stocked!

I found out why the Twinsman needs a good wave! The board is so slow that's the only way it will work.

Still haven't clicked with it and I think its the bottom concave. It's a pretty basic bottom. Nothing really special about it and it doesn't really plane that well. For a twin fin I feel like it lacks glide. Maybe if it had a little more concave out the tail? Maybe its because its a 5'3? Idk.

I did like it better with the Album Fascination fins vs. the Album Twins but that's about it.
Your not alone, and maybe yours is a dud, but I don't even bother taking mine out unless there is a t least a possibility that there are some sections standing up, otherwise you are just asking for disappointment. But in the right curvy conditions, i'm generally stoked like "wow, thats the most fun Ive had in a long time." May want to play with fins as well. I would give it another chance before offing it.

Me too. @tedshred5

After looking again, the twinsman does have a good amount of tail rocker. But the hull just doesn't have that feeling of "glide" that most twin fins have. I don't think that has as much to do with the tail as it does with the bottom. 5'3 is pretty small so it may just be the one i have. Once you subtract the loss of area from the swallow tail, it makes the design even smaller... so I'm actually probably riding on the surface area of a board that is 5'2 or 5'1. That might be why i'm not liking it that much.

It's a demo? Take it back and try a longer one. If that's no bueno why not ask them to suggest another demo board that would be better?

Already ahead of you. Indeed its a demo. But most of the other ones are for larger gentlemen. However, they do have a Red Tiger that is my size (5'7" | 18 7/8" | 2 3/16" | 25.10L). I'm gonna see if I can swap out the Twinsman for that one.

I had two TMs that sucked. Both were non-standard dims.

Have a DA TM running NVS Doc Tall Boy fins. Click.

Love that thing in good surf. I go back and forth between the TM and the AO. TM is easier to surf, AO has a wider range for surf.

People buy them thinking they will surf like a fish. I’ve had quite a few people ask me why I have upright twins on “fish” instead of keels - referring to my TM.

It’s not a fish, people.
Yup.
@ReForest I would think the keel style Fascination fins you put in would be like dragging anchor on turns. Boxes aren’t placed for that IMO.
Anyway, let’s see if you like the DA Red Tiger better! Maybe they can put a tomo channel on it LOL

I’m a Full Album convert. Picked up a second hand plasmic 5’2, took a while to get used to it, trying fins etc. Ended up being one of most fun boards I have ever had for head high and under waves. I had a Channel islands Mid Twin 6’7 which just wasn’t surfing how I expected, my 7’4 Neil Purchase Jnr Duo shreds in comparison. End up selling the buying a brand new Moonstone 6’4 which is absolutely the best board I have ever owned. Can come off the bottom so hard & knifes dredgy takeoffs. Pumped for Autumn in east coast OZ for some solid clean surf. The designs deliver, I’m happy to pay for that much stoke. Currently clearing out all the shortboards I fucking hate to get a twinsman.

Thinking of yolo’ing a moonstone swallow, do you think it’s worth the extra ~$150 to get it in varial or stick to pu?

Also what happened to the varial thread? Can’t seem to find it

I have a Varial moonie and I’ve never once said to myself “gee, I wish this had pizza stain poly construction”

hope this helps. I don’t have any complaints with Varial except that I’ve never been given a free tshirt.

I dunno man. A couple artfully placed jizz ropes across the deck... [chef's kiss] really gets ya in the Asher headspace.
