i mean, im not buying them - but 1300 for something you love, ride all the time and get a couple years/seasons out of doesnt seem like a bad deal to me. there only worth what someone will pay for them and people are stoked on them and obviously paying. Now up to $1300 for a PU shortboard? Who the fck is buying these boards and WTF do they do for a living?
I make pretty good income, no kids thank Christ, my mortgage is about 1/4 of the average rent, I have no bills, and between saving for retirement and general living expenses I don't see how the hell the average avid surfer can afford this sort of sh!t.
Odds on when he's charging 2k for a PU? lol
I like how he charges $500 more for an OTR XTR than XTR charges for a custom.
when you consider the showroom *premium*, it makes sensedefinitely strange that an XTR on album site costs more than a custom XTR
What was the glassers reaction when you handed him the Bud light?Boars are underpriced. Good on Album for charging what his customers are willing to pay.
For $1300-$1400 on Oahu, you can get 2 retail priced Jones Surfboars. 2 regular priced Tokoros, 2 hand shaped Minamis, 2 Arakawas, 1 3/4 Pyzel’s. Pu/PE clear. The list goes on. For $200 more the pair could be EPS/Epoxy.
Daniel gave me uncle pricing on my Rick Cane twin. I paid him retail and gave the glasser 2 8- packs of sparkling water.
Haha. What was the glassers reaction when you handed him the Bud light?
Minamis were $475 when I ordered a couple years ago. Painfully underpriced. I told him you should charge at least $575 and he said nah.Boars are underpriced. Good on Album for charging what his customers are willing to pay.

Jeannie tells him the same thing. She recently told me how much Glen charges and it’s not much more than he charged you a couple years ago. A bunch of groms that are doing the contest thing ride Minamis. My theory is if they are still paying for boars the parents are buying Minamis cause of its affordability .Minamis were $475 when I ordered a couple years ago. Painfully underpriced. He probably charged you more for a long/mid length with a triple stringer but less than $1300.00.My custom from Arakawa was worth every penny. Class act operation
My boar was a 5’8 fish. And it cost me less than $900. Very reasonableJeannie tells him the same thing. I’m friends with Ryan the guy that runs Arakawa’s cnc machine. He’s the son of Tokoro’s glasser Steve, that I mentioned before.
I’ve ordered a handful of boars from Eric. And test rode for HIC a bunch more. Arakawa boars are well designed, fun and functional.
Sorry got you mixed up with the poster on the south shore daily driver thread. Eric made me a fish he called the Wombat. Double wing swallow, EPS/Epoxy, thruster. That boar flew on high tide soft waves, made surfing gravel days fun. When Eric shaped for HIC.My boar was a 5’8 fish. And it cost me less than $900. Very reasonable
