60 To 70 Dead In Waco

Fertilizer plant explosion (same as Texas City 66 years ago yesterday). Pictures on the news here in Houston look really bad. As of right now they are confirming that there are 5-15 dead, and over 170 injured, but based on some of the pictures of homes completely leveled it looks like those numbers will increase as the search and rescue efforts progress. The neighborhoods around the plant are completely shut down.

There is also a strong cold front about to push through that area within the next few hours that will drop the temperature over 20 degrees, and bring 20-30 mph winds out of the north with gusts around 50 mph. There is some concern about this pushing the large ammonia cloud over the larger cities of Waco, and possibly Austin to the south.

Man I was reading about this last night. Really getting fed up with the media. First all the incorrect info on the Boston Bombings about Saudi nationals and imminent arrests. Now this story I'm seeing reports of deaths as low as 1 or 2 to as high as 60 or 70. **** poor reporting on developing news is really getting out of control.

The problem is that no one hires real journalists to be reporters for the most part, its all about a pretty face on-air. The journalists are not the only problem, as the producers and writers are by and large underpaid, young, and also trying to get on-air as their final goal and only copy stories from wires and other news sources. Besides that, in the age of social media, everyone races to break a story without doing the research and vetting that used to be a hallmark that separated journalism from someone with a random opinion.

Ratings and the sensationalism that drive them are the rule of the day

On another thread we were discussing contamination sources and I posted up this picture

Lazaro is about 50 clicks as the crow flies. Notice the Pemex storage tanks next to the fertilizer plant.

Those people in West are fvcked over. I bet the plant was the main source of employment in the small town.

What really happened:

Barack Obama used a space laser to blow up the Texas fertilizer plant in an effort to suck the air out of the news that the gun control bill failed to pass which was specifically scheduled for a vote to draw attention away from the news about the ricin letters that Obama sent to himself to distract people so that they wouldn’t look too closely at his false flag operation in Boston where he personally set off the bombs from the Oval Office thereby enabling his TSA shock troops to confiscate all the guns ( his back-up plan in case the gun bill didn’t pass) scheduled right before the food riots begin because he is also killing off all the bees (using the same drone technology that he used to kill Andrew Breitbart) in order to make the populace weak and compliant thus forestalling the race riots in the FEMA camps - which are currently being built in Cuba with he help of Jay-Z – because of what Michelle Obama said on on the Whitey tape which was supposed to have been destroyed in Benghazi, but wasn’t, which is why Hillary Clinton had to resign…. all of which was all foretold in an episode of The Family Guy viewed in Bill Ayers living room in 1995 even though The Family Guy wasn’t on yet

I would have provided you with all of the appropriate hyperlinks but, by clicking on them, “they” would know that you were onto “them” and then you’d wake up in a bathtub full of ice in a Panamanian motel room with one of your major organs missing. Also: fake moon landing, autism is caused by vaccines, and Princess Diana was murdered because she found out about the shape-shifting reptilian aliens among us, but please don’t tell Tina Brown because she couldn’t handle the truth.
Casa Mangina out!

Their problems have been more EPA related than OSHA. Actually, other than not understanding that the product they were storing might light up, the things they have been cited for were really pretty minor.

The company's annual sales for 2012 were 4 million, their insurance guy must be on suicide watch.

the owner of the youtube account with the video has added a nice eagle&flag avatar and put info in the description. apparantly it's not his video(zidyboy) but i guess received it from Derrik Hurtt. the voice is his 12 yr old daughter, who is regaining her hearing.

i've been having a hard time understanding how this blast could kill so many people, yet this guy and his daughter (who were obviously close!) survived.

"Speaking to the Today show this morning, Mr Hurtt described the scene of the explosion as 'horrific.'

He told host Matt Lauer: 'There was probably double-digit people standing in front of me videoing that were closer than I was, and after the blast, they were nowhere to be seen.'"

so, basically the body count is so high because people were running towards a burning fertilizer plant with video cameras, instead of running away with their valuables/family.

all my thoughts and prayers to the first responders. firefighters are heros. may they r.i.p.

everyone else should have invested in telephoto lenses. does that make me a bad person?

pretty much. Im getting sick of everyone's reaction to these tragedies being "let's find a way that the people who died were being idiots and laugh about it."

"Let's find a way this makes the government look like hypocrites and laugh about it."

okay then. i'll try to be less cynical and insensitive. but it's kinda hard to know where to draw the line. there is a lot of tragedy in this world, and there is a lot of stupidity. it's all around us everyday.

yeah, i suppose i should have just stfu on this one. who am i to know that they knew it was a fertilizer plant? they could have been driving by and not from the area. but yeah...i'll work on it..thanks big T.
