Looked at a sat map of Tampa Bay, notice how much developed land is right at water level. Could be really bad.

Florida panhandle beaches going to be absolutely pumping the next 2 days. Surgical strike anyone? I'm sure Ben Gravy's on his way. Ian for the dream!

Dead flat this morning in PCB and Pensacola. Too much fetch on the wrong side of Cuba/Keys or already over land. Satan Shoal buoy hit 23@10 yesterday though. Rough paddle to get out back.

Venice Jetties looking knee high and howling offshore. Cams farther up the coast already got feeder banded.

Tampa Bay receding before the storm. what would cause that? "run from water, hide from wind" - would run from that.

Howzit in Jaxlandia this morning? Wake and bake!
Roaring onshore. Got a screeching alert this morning that it's illegal to go surfing in Duval County until further notice. Not very much rain. Power and internet is working.

Currently looks like Friday will be the day.

And it's a Thursday in Gringostan. Wake and Bake is for days that start with "S". Until tire mints!

ah, the 11 am update shows a definitive strengthening back to hurricane status as it exits Florida. next 24 hours will be interesting. went and filled the gas cans this morning coz there ain't no point in having a generator if you don't have any gas. look like next landfall will be right below us but the cone of uncertainty is, well, uncertain. a slight jog east will have major consequences.
remember kids, evacuation is a sign of weakness :drowning:

Yeah - not too stoked here in Charleston. Low tide first thing in the AM. Gonna assess then and may haul ass before the tide comes in if it turns out we're not on the backside of the storm.
