More hypocritical than ironic.I think it's ironic to type your complaints about some culture's not having enough respect for life regarding the over killing of a species you find cute by a few hundred into a device the production of which results in innumerable unimaginable horrors for human lives, from a country which allows companies to sell terrible death causing cigarettes by the hundreds of millions to children across the world.
But then again, this is during a global pandemic, so.
Whales are not fish, I hope you are trolling.Haven't read through all of the arguing - isn't this a normal sustainable fishery - much like:

You should see how we catch other fish
More of a trawler myself.Whales are not fish, I hope you are trolling.
Have you seen how they dig clams or gather seaweed?More of a trawler myself.
If you want to get technical there is no such thing as a 'fish' - we are clearly referring to (things)that live in the sea.
I've seen it all man - even desalination -Have you seen how they dig clams or gather seaweed?
This is the (realistic) argument here.Factory farming is inhumane.
I'm okay with hunting if you manage the resource.
I'm not sure if this dolphin kill is good management.
Maybe dynamite? It is pretty brutal - they should just electrify that cove and fry 'em up quickly. could be more humane - also could ruin the meat
Just like desalination? It is pretty brutal - they should just electrify that cove and fry 'em up quickly. could be more humane - also could ruin the meat
Probably some world class Cod and Halibut fishing, species pretty much done on US east coast.
