Figuring out my power tiger (rawr)

"Probably only surfed 15-20 times in the past 5 years". That's probably the biggest culprit. Get back into a consistent regular routine first. Play with fins and question equipment choices after more water time.

futures fin box cracking and failure with twin fins

Never any problems here with the ones i've had. The majority of mine have been in xtr. I have a couple in pu from moonlight also thats held up well. I'm usually on capt cc keels, which are more centered over the fin box than most keels.

Can't decide on a step up

Its really hard to beat the convenience of a stock ghost you can grab at most shops otr. Besides being an incredible board, the ease of replacing one in a pinch is a major plus.

    Monster Chief v. Mid-Length

I'm the same height. I've had some good ones at 6'8 and 6'10. It will take a little getting used to.... moving your feet more, but it does sounds more ideal for your situation and sounds like you will pick it up quick with your experience. I don't think you need to go as wide and thick as your...

    Wax fresh - wax remover

I have a dark colored board and the wax literally just melts off after 20 minutes in the sun and I can just wipe it off with just paper towels. You guys need to remind me not to get dark colored summer boards. I'm getting pro at waxing the board while in the lineup though.

    Monster Chief v. Mid-Length

I don't think an oversized monsta chief is the answer here. I don't see that helping you any more than your 6'4" fish or 6'2 sweet potato. Its just a different flavor. If your #1 priority is to get in earlier, add some real length for more paddle glide. If you deal with chop often, some vee...

Leash Plugs - Regular vs. Goofy

I never thought much about it until I got one too high at center on a deep swallow tail. Stepping on it constantly annoyed me to the point of reordering the board. The customs I've gotten the past few years have been placed on my heel side when I tell them i'm goofy. No complaints there. I'm...

Never tried or fondled a Burch. Is there a theme with his rockers?

I'd be surprised if they help any catching the wave. They have more surface area, more raked, and more cant angle than the EN's fyi. They will probably feel a little more stable and faster down the line though.

the regular swallow version i really like the cc keels capt fin used to make. Feels perfect for me. Another guy I know has been riding his with bmts and liking those also. They are definitely big. I thought about running them in my Aipa one day and stuck them in and took them back out...

NVS are notoriously sharp. It just got annoying with how often it was happening and only with those. Might of just been bad luck, but had another set that worked better so moved on. I have a set of fiberglass BMT's I picked up used that I've been sitting on. I still need to give them a go...

    New Lost: Lost the Ripper

Mine was in XTR and I remember their tech blowing me away at the time. Never got to try the Salomon version but this one was magic for me.

With a lot more width and wider tail for low end. Looks good to me.

    John John’s Trestles Pyzel

Big moment for him. I'm not surprised he stuck with the fins he is usually on. I think I remember him saying he likes the scimitars on his white tiger.
