Thunderbolt construction - anyone have feedback

I rode a 7'2" Moe and a 9'1" HIHP on my last trip to Taiwan and I hate to say it but they were pretty nice. I'm 198cm 100kg (6'5" 210# in freedom units) intermediate surfer, and surf 2-3 times a week. The Moe paddled similar to a PU IMO and rails felt forgiving and easy enough to turn. It felt...

Kim Firing Missles Again, Right Over Japan

Rough morning with the fam this morning thanks to Kim Jon Unko (Unko mean sh*t in Japanese). We had to have a moment waiting on the couch when they detected the missile launch. All TV stations went silent and flashed a graphic that said to hide underground.

The Great Unbiased Wetsuit Review Thread

Their custom suits are expensive but the stock sized ones are less. Most run about $500-$800 that I've seen.

It's some high grade dank sh*t for sure. But high grade comes at a high price. See my previous post.

I am, and there are lots of great suits. I'm a real fan of Dove suits. Materials and craftsmanship are second to none, The Mad Tailor is insane. https://dovewet.com/mad_tailor/ I can get a custom suit and be pretty stoked BUT $1,500 stoked. There's some stock sizes but I'm not quite stock size...

The Great Unbiased Wetsuit Review Thread

Thanks for this post! Pretty much my winter conditions and you've answered my questions. I got an Infinity 5/4 3 years ago and did well the first season and a half but then limped through the last season with lots of leaks. Even still, it hasn't left me out in the cold. I was thinking Psychotech...

Been a run of good swells recently and haven't written so here's a couple of the good ones. Bomb swell came through on Wednesday and while it's usually stormy as hell and onshore the wind was blowing 10-15 offshore. No snow and 15'-25' waves closing out the bay out front. WAAAAY too big for me...

A meaningless thread about nothing - what's your volume to weight ratio?

No doubt. I'm in spring suits or trunks in summer and 5/4 in winter and while I can feel the difference in summer and winter it's not so much that I'd think to need boards for each season. Altho if I nail the lottery I'm so doing that!

Dropped the kids off at school and swung by the local on the way back. No wind yet, nobody out and about waist to shoulder high. Decided to have a surf before work so went home put on the suit and grabbed the board. When I got back to the beach a nice overhead set rolled in. I was thinking maybe...

    Stocked to be surfing again!

Nice one Bruk! Sick looking surf! Similar story. I had a couple a kids and moved a few hours away from the coast for nearly 20 years. Got back to it with a house at the beach 4 years ago and finally feel like I've got it back. The body is a lot older but back in shape and surfing every day. Life...

I've been watching a hollow, ledgey, sketchy wave develop down the beach since last fall. It doesn't break that much but when it does it's pretty tempting. It's always been a hair too big to go take a look so I always check other spots that are breaking at that size. This morning nothing was...

After 4 years of living in front of the local the waves clicked and I felt like an actual local. Full disclosure, the waves here are not that great. I've seen it at its best and worst and it's most definitely not one to write home about. I had a handful of sessions that were ok but I didn't...

Hit up the local rivermouth early and was feeling pretty sleepy. I wanted to take the day off but the sound of an ok swell was out the window, it was dropping later in the am, and the new board was calling for more turns. Paddling out I felt better and right when I got to the peak a set was...

Custom CI Neckbeard 2 came in yesterday, surf popped up this afternoon and nobody out so took it for a spin. Very nice ride in just average waves. More turns than what are average for me and felt comfortable/natural. Couple of late drops that went well, good speed, and had a good layback...

Koa Rothman proclaims self King Of Pipeline.

For a guy who worked hard to be the "nice guy pro surfer from Hawaii" and built a popular YouTube channel, that was a poor business decision

Decent surf this AM but not all that shapely or powerful. Saw a salmon swimming in the lineup so paddled over. Looked like he was taking a breather before heading upriver so just hung out for a minute or so. Set came through and he took off. That is all :)
