The same judge who scored Filipe 0.5 higher than the others (9.5 instead of a 9) also scored Ethan 0.5 higher (gave him a 9 instead of an 8.5)... That could work quite well to be honest (stupid finals day at Hossegor). Carves, snaps, airs, barrels... can get intimidating and quite heavy depending on the conditions and would also reward a surfer's ability to read a way more unpredictable line up. 10X better than Lowers if they wanna crown...- brukuns

I don't think there should be a final at all. I just think that if they must have it, Trestles is the worst place to do so and Pipe makes most sense historically speaking. Just don't have it at one of the least intimidating waves in the world (as perfect as it is).- brukuns
