9'4" Townsend (Used)
A long, narrow midlength that works in a wide mix of conditions and waves. Paddle power that comes from a forward wide point, with a pulled in tail for full maneuverability. Performs best in shoulder high+ steeper surf. Typically offered as an Asym, but goes great as a rounded pin or diamond tail.

I grabbed a 6'8 mid strength for exactly this purpose.
It's great for the task, but you have to accept that the "turns like a shortboard" descriptors are just marketing copy.

I forgot to mention - stretch quad fish FTW. Rodea slightly oversized one in big mushy conditions for years!
CC's my fav by far. Really like the balance of drive / pivot from this upright keel. I use it from waist high to overhead+. They stay in the board. I have the honeycomb version as well, but somehow the stiffer solid glass feels a bit better to me when pushing hard.
