Hard pass. Not that I would be really be surfing Teahupoo anyways but that looks like an absolute shitshow and the exact opposite of oceanic serenity.

I feel like that's not the first time I've seen that boat in that position.

I've heard some crazy stories about early channel days.

Before the scaffolding was built, judges would judge from the channel in a boat. One judge was scoring with swim fins on for the inevitable catastrophe.

I can't remember who the photographer was, but their boat was in a similar situation. Story goes that he saw the set coming, boxed up his gear into his pelican case and got ready to bail. Meanwhile his girlfriend was in the boat. He jumped, saved his equipment, and let the Mrs fend for herself. I don't the the relationship made it.
