+1 try the 5’10 before you buy. I’m 6’1 and have only tried a 5’8 but saw little reason to want one longer.

racer is into something with a thick-assed 5’8. I’m soyboy dims and the extra float of the 5’8 didn’t irk me as much as it did with the lightbender.

i guess it would come down to your stance. if you don’t mind a 5’8 banjo, for example. I prefer mine at 5’6, a lot to do with my narrow for my height stance.

My (new) board buying moratorium is finally almost over. Been a long two years. I am set on a varial twinsman. I’m 6’x190 (200 lately ). I ride a 5’10” x 20“ x 2 5/8” 32L nicely foiled stumps GX and a 5’8”x21x 2 5/8” 36l banjo as my dd’s.Ive been finding not much drawback to more volume lately.

I’m thinking stock dims 5’10“ swallow tail infused epoxy 646 with futures. STOCKED to finally order this after so much lusting over the rave reviews here. Pre-sharing this info with no receipt screen cap is very anti yolo but the stock is high.
6'2 175-180 pounds, 50 years old, crappy but stoked surfer. Stock Varial 5'10 Twinsman. I wouldn't change a thing about it.
Surfed it this am (only my 3rd session on it) in jumbled, very disappointing swell and was shocked how easy and early I got into waves. Also, the 5'10 swallowtail feels like a different board completely from my 6'0 RT (sold). I still need to get it wired, Varial definitely gives the board a super lively feel IMO, but so far it's way more fun to surf than the RT. Congrats on your YOLO.

Broke down and YOLO'ed a DA Twinsman round pin and rode it today paired with some Griffin fins. Will take some getting used to but there is definitely some magic and fins felt great!

if I could only get my $hit together long enough to pull of a tropical island move! Then I could try the island dream life…

Late to this thread...
Mines 2 3/4 (6'4x 21.5x45L) and THICK, obviously foiled rails per the design, rides great and most definitely what I wanted but if you're smaller than me you may want to consider consulting with Album to make sure you get what you want. For context, my other boards are generally 2.9-3 and this seems thicker in the middle.
