Could you imagine the shitstorm there would be if 1 in 328 people were killed in a year and a half by automobile accidents? Would the country be demanding that measures be required that would lower the death rate by an order of magnitude, like mandatory seat and shoulder belt use, and airbags and collision avoidance devices in cars?
