We have unstable cliffs here. Years ago a friend and I dug a couple out from under landslide. Gnarly. Chick lived, dude didn’t.
Nobody sued.
I see people hanging out under the cliffs all the time. When I’m hiking to my surf spot at high tide after a rain I’m always watching, listening, to what’s going on above.
Seeing what happens to people up close and in person when a cliff falls on you leaves an impression.
Signs are posted, clearly.
It's not the rest of our faults people choose to ignore the signs - and the obvious - to their own detriment.
Multiple places in SD county have people posting up below bluffs right next to signs discouraging it.
