Fixed it for you (based on my experiences down there)Yeah, and each of those 3 spots had a shopping center to entertain ourselves when the wind fucked everything up.

Fun spot if you like to "Paddle-Battle" with the local 1st. period surf class. Those kids have no etiquette at all.
I watched a Zodiac get tossed on the the outside rocks there on a day like that, (bigger actually) trying to get into the harbor. That wind was persistent all right. Although, if it was big enough, with the wind, I always said it didn't get unsurfable, it just got more interesting. My other spot in the area, didn't start hitting it up until early 90s once I could drive.

And yes, that left is makeable from time to time but takes a sh*tload of nerve. More than I had most the time, that's for sure. But that expressway adjacent to the jetty could save you a lot of paddling. Although you'd better bounce out of that rip fast if a set came. At least the breakwater provided a little bit of warning unlike the spot to the north.
Ouch. Yeah, that is no good whatsoever. When it's big enough (8'+), you pretty much have to enter and exit the harbor via the northern entrance. Plus, those currents off North Jetty swirl in some pretty crazy ways.I watched a Zodiac get tossed on the the outside rocks there on a day like that, (bigger actually) trying to get into the harbor.
Rescue couldn't get to the 2 guys.
They both died. There were about 30 people that watched it go down. Pretty heavy scene.
Remember the days before they built the current handicap access. That used to sort out the locals from the kooks.Looks like it. Plus, one of the pics he posted has "cowells" in the file name. Is there some confusion or a mixup, here?
Some of my early waves here and caught my first yellowtail
