Unsure what kind of grouse this is...taken 2nd week of Sept in Pac NW at 4K feet elevation:

Don't know about the Grouse but the other is an Orange-crowned Warbler.
Ended up volunteering at Humane Society this summer. Along with walking and training, sadly I also help rehabilitate the dogs who’ve been mistreated like Bruno.
Crazy position to be attacked. Top of a mountain ridge. Jagged rocks all around. Steep drops. And by himself.

The captivity aspect, what's that all about? Seems awful, what's the reason they took possession of an orca in the first place. I'm almost triggered out this muffhugger.
Foreign countries don't give a fck. They take whatever animals they want for their shows. 'Murica used to as well. Orca is perhaps the animal with the greatest territorial roam on this planet. They literally swim the entire planet. But yah, let's capture a few and put in a small tank.

For what it’s worth that was sent to me and I’ve never been on that insta page before and I don’t even know what it is or anything about it.
Been lots of whales and Orcas around this year. This is a group of Humpbacks feeding in Juan de Fuca out along Gordon's Beach a few days ago. Photo by Joyce MacKinnon.
Yesterday morning I just missed a large group of Pacific White Sided Dolphins go by where I live and then a half hour later a pair of Humpbacks, adult and juvenile, went by just offshore. Didn't get any photos but enjoyed watching them. The juvie would do a little tail flip after each breath while the adult just motored steadily along.
Had three groups of Orcas go by a few days ago. They were all transients (mammal eaters) and headed north. Saw two or three juveniles in the pods too.
Note wildfire smoke across the Strait covering the Olympics.
Still praying for rain here.
