I dunno, there could be something to it in America when only/mostly people of color are impacted by negative aspects of the technology, as outlined in the article. But to call the technology itself racist is the wrong signal to send/thing to say. I'm sure they don't say this in France.

I think you confusing the name calling fallacy with the ad hominem.

Resorting to name calling could mean you were right.

But you could also be called a name for being wrong.
