Maybe this is a case of the grass is greener over there.oh, that's just the presentation. CA is oozing surf culture since the beginning.
Once upon a time, there were surf movies traveling to theaters up and down the coast. Now you can go to a Patagonia store and safely watch the Lopez movie. Even in the surf-starved city of SF surf shops would throw parties with music and movies, occasionally. Now w/ the surfer population is at an all-time high all that has vanished. Last Fall/Winter you could walk the neighborhood and see a few garages converted into +/- 50 board storage hangout facilities. The people there w/ license plates from Wyoming, Idaho... Wonder if those will reappear once we get waves again That's where the surf culture has gone around here.
If you know what's happening in CA please share.
