U.S Field Production of Crude Oil isn't even close to the period from late 2018 thru early 2020 (Covid-19 shot everything after).

So what is holding the oil companies back from hitting those high production numbers once again? It should be easy for them to once again ramp up production that was operational just a couple of years ago. Spend a little money and turn on those wells!!

I say it's the fact that they are raking in record profits precisely because they are not spending that little bit of money that keeps that extra capacity turned off.

What executive in his or her right mind would deliberately increase costs and increase product supply specifically in order to decrease the price they sell their product for, thereby eroding profits?

I realize you're an ignorant idiot but please take a look at the graphic below. Note that the government takes a bigger slice than the refining cost and profit COMBINED!!!!!! The profit margin on a gallon of gasoline is absurdly low.

I realize that as a school teacher you have very little real world experience but I have to ask, have you ever had a side job or a job growing up in retail of any kind where a product was sold? If so, were you ever aware of the profit margin on the products the business sold? If so, what was the product the business sold and what was the typical profit margin?
