By all means, GromsDad, please explain why you think Jennifer Granholm, whose resume includes a Berkeley UG degree, Phi Beta Kappa membership, Harvard JD, EIC of a law school journal, COA clerkship, SCOTUS nomination shortlist, and Berkeley senior research fellowship and adjunct law professorship beyond her political career, is a "nitwit," other than your current feelsbad regarding gas prices.
Maybe because she’s writing about something outside her field of expertise?

Would you trust a decorated surgeon to write an article about surfing just because he had every surgery degree and award you could think of?

Exactly how does the government expect to tell Exxon or Chevron or whoever that they MUST sell their products to a reduced-price domestic market where the prices are presumably set by a bunch of bureaucrats in Washington, and that they may NOT sell their products on the global market? Sounds a lot like government control of privately-owned corporations, which sounds a lot like the s-word.

Doesn't have to be for us. We can drive the world market or we can tell the world market to go fuk itself. Its entirely up to us. We just need to tell the anti-capitalists and eviro-nuts to stick it where the sun don't shine.
Then you want to nationalize the oil industry like a good socialist.

Ever look up gas prices in other countries, Bidens fault as well?
EU and other 1st world Petrol prices have ALWAYS been MUCH higher than USA prices in like forever, before you were born.

They add tons of taxes and fees to gasoline, and have for decades. This in nothing new.

I have to go on the record here and say that Biden is actually more responsible for global inflation and resulting recession than any one person or event in the last 18 months.

Yes, a bold claim, but look back at oil/gas prices in Nov 2020/Jan 2021.

Why the sudden jump from those days forward, if not Biden's actions and agenda against our domestic oil producers? Then continued further actions against them once in office.

He's the main reason the oil companies are making bank on consistent $100+ a barrel oil now. All the threats.

Oil NEVER got over $75 a barrel during Trump years, and even then it only lasted a few days. It averaged $50-60 a barrel most years, with it dropping in price late 2018 thru 2019 just before Covid-19 screwed the entire modern world (Thanks China, we owe you one).

Look! Actual data! Gasoline is the red line, crude is the green. YTD.

View attachment 132093
Your chart leaves out the price of crude being consistently over $100 since that spike in late Feb 2022 (Ukraine).

When oil goes up above $100 and STAYS there indefinitely, gas prices keep going up due to supply constraints.

Gas prices rarely keep in direct track with short oil price spikes, because they usually come back down quickly after spiking. There's a lag time in most every instance it happens.

But, once oil goes up high and STAYS HIGH, gasoline prices eventually start catching up to those elevated, prolonged high oil prices.

Look at gas prices when oil hovers around $50-$60 a barrel. Now look at gas prices when oil hovers and STAYS around $110-$120 a barrel. Oil doubles in price, and now gas is catching up to that DOUBLE in price. Going from $2.50 nationally to $5.00 nationally, in about a year now. It's a not-so-slow motion inflation train wreck from hell.

It's EXACTLY what happened in the mid-late 1970's, and why inflation skyrocketed after.

Learn from history. It often repeats itself when taken for granted.

Surfdog comes in and types 400 words that completely ignore the chart/data that unwinds his entire stupid argument

brilliant

I love watching these idiots spend all this energy to avoid learning

like, if you spent as much energy trying to learn as you try to avoid learning you could be a better person

instead you're just a zero integrity bet welcher

WRONG!!

U.S Field Production of Crude Oil isn't even close to the period from late 2018 thru early 2020 (Covid-19 shot everything after).

https://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=MCRFPUS2&f=M

Easily 10%-20% less than those peak months in that period above.

Why do you Biden defenders insist on spreading that lie?

Facts matter.
Facts Matter: Oil production under Biden is on par with that of Chump.

It's interesting how much Barry increased oil production. Facts Matter.

It's interesting how oil production declined under the Bush's and Clinton.Facts matter.

Democrats lie. Its just a fact. Ends justify the means.
None of them can admit being anti-petroleum right now because the results of their sh!t policies are radioactive politically now that the results are sky high inflation and gasoline prices.
