I'm about to order a custom mid-lenth twin fin - seems like the right board for the conditions around here and my current surfing priorities (going straight then turning). Anyone have any experience with these (bottom contours, wide point, etc)?

Thanks!

How big? I have a 8' x 22" x 3" Twin (single-foiled keel) that has become both my ML and LB. Don't even use my LB anymore.

Bottom is flat to V. Wide point pretty much center.

Trailing edge of fins are 8.75 from pins.

I love it.

I'm thinking 7'6" ish. I'm 6'3", 205. Are your fins parallel to the rail? Does it have that slippery fishy bar-of-soap-in-a-wet-bathtub feel? I want to be abe to ride it when it gets good here (think HH barreling beach break) but still have fun when it's less, um, epic.

6'9" x20" x2.5" It 2win pintail Fins unlimited 2win twin set 5.5"(h) 5 25"(b). Stretch It single to double out back continues rocker and buzz nose. The rails are super foiled and has some nice nose rocker to handle steeper stuff. Fins are 11" back not sure cant but longer rail and stinger allow board to be turned easily upper deck or mid instead of having to stomp on fin cluster. Board paddles like a cadilac once you get it moving nice momentum:shaka:

Here's my big twin. 7-7 x 21 x 2-3/4.

It failed in its design brief to compete with longboards at my local. It surfs GREAT (think big carves) but does not catch waves early. Too big for the beaches. I'm about to create a smaller version (6-8) for the beaches.

Got a stock 7'2" x 21 3/4" x 2 3/4" Vouch Mid-Vish OTR from a shop in Wahiawa. https://vouchsurf.com/mid-vish/

Intended to get it as a longboard replacement and something for town waves in summer. Ended up getting my wave of the winter on it, full on overhead barrel out at the point a month ago. I'd talk to your shaper with regards to your intentions since I think most of these style of boards are meant to be more step-ups for guys on 5'4"s rather than for shitty waves?

This. I got a new 7'0" twin from AG as a step up for when it gets heavier. And it's worked really great backside at OH thick reefs. Not sure what it would do in mediocre waves and not sure I'll really try...

Yeah -- this is exactly what I'm thinking except with a swallow. Maybe wide point at or a lil north of center.

GG you look like you know your sh!t when it comes to these.

I kinda like the idea of stingers/hip bumps in the tail too. Had a 6'3" fish I rode into the dirt -- kinda looking to replicate that for older, slower, stiffer, older, less coordinated, older, achier, tireder, lazier me. I find immense value in a board that turns but also affords one that courtesy extra half-second when bumbling to one's feet.

Is it the camera angle or are those fins set like 14" up? I like the e-wings, though they almost look like e-stings.
I've never measured. The board is 6'8, 20ish and 3 inches thick - with a flat deck. Amazing board in any sort of conditions.
