That's near where I grew up. I know the road well. More likely he ran UP an embankment. I wonder if he was on his way to Trump National Golf Course? Good surf spot under that course. But you didn't hear it from me.
There is a section of Hawthorne Blvd that is very steep and has run away truck lanes (couple hundred yards long and filled with gravel). My guess is that it's in that section, just going too fast and losing control.

Is this road anything like the Ortega Highway out to Lake Elsenore? Love to take the rental cars up on that road and beat the **** out of them. Wouldn't want to make a mistake on there though. Wonder if that's what he was doing with his tournament courtesy vehicle.
