Snuck into Bali and has been scoring perfect Padang. I like how the locs still take any wave they want.

^This. Once again showing the rich and famous don't play by the same rules as the rest of us.My guess is the locals are not happy. Indonesia is famously closed to tourists. There are no visa on arrivals for US passport holders. I called a close friend who owns a big surf shop in Bali, he is in Sumbawa now with his (local) wife and kids and he said no go, he can't even get a visa for his brother. He doesn't want to leave in case he can't get back in himself. Which means Slater is a walking breathing surfing embodiment of classic Indonesian pay to play corruption, unless he is holding a resident permit in his back pocket (possible). Dumb move from Slater IMO and for what... to get three minutes of footage of him getting burned by locals. Come on.
