i sink into the water with my shortboard, im beginner, wath surfboard i should buy?

i am try to catch waves in a shortboard 6'6 of 34 lt but i cant pop up because i sink into the water, i've been 3 week trying, i think i have good paddle an stability but i cant do it. im 184cm and 83-84 kg, im skinny-athletic and i can skate and im practicing balanceboard.
i think i going to buy a softboard 8' or 7.6' arround 60lt. wath do you think?
im surfing in average 10hr per week and i catch waves when i am lying whit precission.

help me please

Believe it or not that board is too big for you.

A smaller board will plane faster because of less surface area.

For your size I’d go 5’6.

have u tried wrapping your nuts and feet in yards of bubble wrap to attain superfloat?

also, 1/2 dozen tournament grade ping pong balls inserted gingerly up the ol’ butthole will have you buoyant as a rubber creampuff.

are you still located in serbia?

having any better luck with the hairy-backed serb fish wives?
