Do you think the Unlimited service is worth it? I'm always wary of supposed "unlimited" subscriptions that are actually limited in selection, where you end up spending more on top of the subscription to get what you really want. Thanks! As expected, some great books on this thread.
Which leaves me a little bitter than none of the authors, let alone books, makes an appearance in the Kindle Unlimited library.
I don't think it is worth it at all. A lot of newly self-published authors. Not to say there isn't good material in there but if you had your set on reading several books on the Good Book thread list, you won't find them there. No Steinbeck, no Hemingway, no Theroux, no Miller of any repute. Etc.Do you think the Unlimited service is worth it? The "John Rain" series by Barry Eisler is friggin amazeballs and probably my favorite of all time and it's available on Kindle Unlimited. The first book was good but not not mind blowing, although they get better and better throughout the series: https://www.amazon.com/Clean-Tokyo-Previously-Published-Novel-ebook/dp/B00M4LHQ82/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=john+rain+series&qid=1590159648&sr=8-3
Basically an assassin that lives in the spook and organized crime world and goes all around the world in his books. The 2nd one has a half-n-half Japanese Brazo stripper as a character. What's not to like about that?
Kento, I know you like your Stephen King, and you most likely have read the 2015 compilation of King short stories called "Bazaar of Bad Dreams." For those who haven't, this is a collection of stories between 20 and 60 pages in length which range from near-brilliant at best to merely above mediocre (for him) at worst. Worth it to have around and pick up at any time. Some of those stories will stick with you.I just finished The Institute by Stephen King. Had some elements of Firestarter to it, which I kind of liked. Overall really good and it read like the wind but a lot of times it felt like he was trying to drop current events and trends just a little too hard, which will only be stupid if you read it 5 years hence. Didn't override the quality of the story but I was thinking, man shut the f*ck up already Steve.
Thanks. I have not picked that one up just yet. I'll have to add that to the list.Kento, I know you like your Stephen King, and you most likely have read the 2015 compilation of King short stories called "Bazaar of Bad Dreams." especially for genre fiction. If you want fun escapist whatever genre, like military or naval, crime, etc, just a few clicks around amazon turns out some decent titles.Kindle unlimited is a part of prime, and prime is worth it for the savings on shipping if you buy much on Amazon.
If you look on unlimited there’s plenty of good stuff but it isn’t handed to you on a platter.
