Agreed. Biden is the sacrificial lamb. By letting him lose, they stand a good chance against a non-Trump candidate in 2024. Even if we was elected, there's no way that Biden will make it to 2028.
Additionally, Bernie is honest and open about his socialist leanings. I think most dems agree with him but realize they need to hide their agreement or re-package socialism as something more palatable.

If Bernie and by association socialism is at the top of the ticket and gets soundly rejected (as it would) it would severely damage the possibility of implementing socialist ideas in the US for a generation.

By not (openly) running on socialist ideas got can never be said that socialist ideas were rejected.

Thats why the dems burned Bernie in 16. They simply don’t want to see the unavoidable and devastating rejection of socialism.

Biden losing is not the same as Bernie losing. The vulnerable GOP Senators aren't defending the newly minted state of AOC's district or whatever Trump2020/Idiothouse think is happening on r/QAnon and r/TheDonald.

There's a bunch of winnable and contestable 2020 Senate seats, and Biden plays better than Bernie in almost all of them. Colorado is the (D) safest bet, and Bernie did win Colorado.

But he got his dick kicked in by Biden in North Carolina, Arizona, Maine and Michigan. Georgia's primary is in another month, but let me explain how Bernie has done in the South:

Biden has calmly strolled up to Bernie, after wandering to and fro looking for Bernie, not recognizing Bernie was right there while Bernie seethed, glanced at Bernie's dick, and kicked it two feet up his torso, then wrinkled his nose because the leg movement made him sh!t his colostomy bag.

Michigan should be a keep but the GOP candidate is really good. Colorado should be a W, and McSally lost the last Senate election she ran in so there's no reason she'll win this one in Arizona.

Win two of the others and Trump's a lame duck Wednesday morning. He can sign the bills Chuck and Nancy send him, or he can tweet and play golf.

Biden certainly is not my first choice, but compared to Trump I will take him largely because of the people he will surround himself with as opposed to Trumps cabinet composed of grifters, criminals and religious fanatics.

Biden will get more votes if he picks the right Veep but he can’t get somebody that will outshine him so his choices are VERY limited. Regardless, he has no chance and will get castrated in any debate against Trump. Facts.

I watch trump bluster and it's horrifying.

You are making a virtue out of a vice.

To me it seems like a choice between stupid (JB) or evil (Trump).
No, they’re just different variations of blowhards

Neither is well suited to this situation

You want an actual manager here

Biden is so much closer to being a normal human being. Still can’t believe anyone voted for trump. His election revealed the intense racism in this country

I find it amusing that someone who can't win 1/3 of the votes in his "own" party is somehow going to lose fewer votes than someone who beat him back to front, this way and that.

Again. Swing districts. There were a fair few in South Florida where this build the wall sh!t cost the GOP seats.
You run Bernie and those seats are gone.

Half of these candidates in 2018 who flipped districts had to promise they weren't going to vote for Nancy Pelosi, a centrist compared to Bernie, to be Speaker. They had to whip out their schlongs and **** on the Green New Deal, Medicare For All, and an effigy of AOC.

But somehow a guy who struggles to clear 30% in any state where the Democratic electorate doesn't consist of a couple college towns or self-exiled Californians is going to win white voters in suburbs.

“There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.” Asimov

I got another on relative to Trumptards " Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities" Voltaire.

Okay but don't blame the Bernie Bros when you lose again because you chose a shitty candidate who hates them.

Deal. When the progressive in 2024 loses 49 states like McGovern don't blame the Biden bros because you chose a shitty candidate who hates them.
Look, it's pretty obvious that the DNC base is split between status quo (used to be progressive in 1985) type candidate and a progressive candidate.

Choosing status quo everytime, failing and not learning anything from it is just silly.

There either has to be a candidate who can pull both sides together or middle America (and Floriduh) needs to wake the fück up. Biden is not that guy and nobody's woke.

If not, we need a third party and proportional representation, which won't happen.
So Trump forever.

Do you think Obama was Progressive?

Or did Obama insist on having at least one Republican and one Goldman exec in his cabinet, basically get his hand forced on gay marriage by (drumroll) JOE BIDEN?

Did Obama go to the mat for single payer, or did he abandon it the first instant he could, and then proceed to waste a chunk of his first year failing badly in his misguided and naive attempt to get crypt keeper Karen Republicans from Maine to vote for Private Insurer Guaranteed Profits Act?
