had a nice session at home after the france trip, gong pro large went really well with the cut down 250 stab, turned fine and had good speed for the tiny wave, 0.6ft@11secs.

also got to ride the new naish xl wing, felt pretty unremarkable compared to the takuma lol 1600, and really sluggish and pedestrian compared to the gong pro large but then it is a size up from that wing,

it didn't give any benefit after the easier paddle in/easier takeoff over the gong in the conditions last (night knee high and a bit) apart from a bit more carry through the weaker bits where the gong needed a few pumps to get to the next connection.

Got the 680 bc I'm a lightweight. Will pick up the 900 when they get them back in stock here in CA
Yeah, I was thinking a light weight / big waves or maybe kite. BTW how much do you weigh mate? I've been thinking of what size wing to match with the 900.
I have read that there is a new design surf wing coming but it's all very hush-hush & don't know when.

I'm 68 kg. After I try out the 900, I will most likely make my own wings, which is why I went w axis. Seems like Naish is the only other company that doesn't have their fuse inside a front wing sleeve.

Wish the fuse didn't have the weird connection to the stab though. Would've been much easier to make homemade stabs if it were flat. Will probably make a shim and then use flat stabs

lift 200 or signature stealth 175 Can't really decide between those 2. Stealth is cheaper, but would have to be shipped and is well used. Lift is newer and driving distance but more expensive.

Supposed to meet a guy later to sell the Naish.

Gonna list my Naish setup, too. Here's a comparison between my Axis 680 and Naish medium:

similar SA, but way different foil:

Sold my Naish Friday and immediately drove to pick up a lift 200 classic. The difference in weight still blows my mind everytime I carry the wing.

I may have a 24 inch lift mast for sale if anyone's interested.

Sold my Gong yesterday, but only to come home from my first hand kite wing thing session to find my house had been robbed and the cash from both foil sales (sold the chinese one a couple weeks ago) gone... bummed.

but the first hand kite session was quite the adventure. I'll write about it in the other thread in a bit... too much on my mind right now.

Sucks Bigmtnbill. Here's to hoping your wing keeps you busy and you can forget about the other stuff.

Considering dropping down on board size, from a 4'6 (37L) to 4'2 (34L) - I'm 160 pounds.
Be interested to hear what size other's are on compared to their weight please?

I’m 80kg closer to 85 in rubber. I’ve been riding a 3’11 x 20 x 3” for a few months..can’t tell you the volume but it’s fairly full figured and flat with deck concave. That is a really good board for turning and pumping but is a bit exciting if the swell has size and or suck. It doesn’t chase em down super well but I got used to it.

That board is off the road for a while so I borrowed/stole a board I shaped for my mate. It’s (iirc) 4’5” x 20 x 3.5”. More pulled in nose. It’s basically much more fun to ride because I get so many more waves, and now with the HA wings and some other mods the extra weight and length of the board is carried very easily.

I’ll be going longer and maybe thinner for my next one.
