I've heard nothing but great things about these suits in the last couple of years. I am a devoted Oneil fan but will try on the Xcel before I get a new fullsuit this year. How are these suits holding up?

If you can, give me an idea of how often you surf, and how long the suit has held up.

Thanks

that is a No. As surfish says if you keep your receipt and paper work it should be OK.

Really?
My friend has gotten two new suits within a year and a half.
No papers or anything. Just showed them the suit and what was wrong with it and they just gave him a new one on the spot. Even let him get a different size once.

Pitted.

I've got a hooded 5/4/3 Infinity, and this will be it's third and last hard winter, I'm replacing it with a 6/5 and saving it for those warmer above 32 F days! It's starting to get water seeping in at a few points, but I go out a couple of times a week, so I've certainly gotten my money out of it. Damn hard thing to get out of when you're frozen though, but that's the only negative!

I intend to live forever....so far so good.

I was looking at suits this weekend and a shop owner told me the Navy Seals use Xcel. For what it's worth.

Great feedback, thanks. Looks like I will go with the most comfortable suit.

I've got a 6/5/4 that's killer. Superwarm in the cold Dutch conditions. go for Excel.

I got a mid-priced excel last winter. Was surfing 3-5 times a week at least for a good 4+ months. The only thing that has happened is for one of the calf seams, the stitching came loose and the unraveled. So I cut it. But it doesn't matter because the suit is glued and everything. But I went into Mitch's in La Jolla where I bought it, without a reciept or anything (I just said, "I bought the suit last Nov" cause I did and I remembered Mitch telling me about a 1 year warantee.) Mitch just said, "Bring it in dry and I'll send it in to get fixed. Two weeks later it's back to you." I think I'll do that this weekend. And the suit is still warm as hell, but it's a 4/3 and I surf San Diego. @ dawn patrol warmth.

I've had a front-zip, 4/3 for over a year and a half and it's in good shape, besides the neck finally starting to fray.

But super warm on comfortable, still.

I'm definitely getting another one.

I will probably get another one too, that is until I can afford a $500 custom fitted "feels like youre naked" heated suit of the gods. Once I get one of those, my wallet is doomed!

i've got the $200 4/3 Infinity back zip which is now 2 years old. Last week I bought a 3/2 version for before and after winter. The suits are SOOOOO soft. my 4/3 is peeling from the seems on the outside at the neck and armpit. Little shoe goo has work to patch the holes (probably should use rubber cement). The peeling could be from either grapping the neck to pull it over my shoulders before zipping up or sweat deteriorating the rubber from using the wetsuit to exercise at home with the heater on. either way it's been a KICK ASS suit for the price of a low end Oneill/Rip Curl/Quicksilver/Billabong/etc.

It's Barry Williams arm-wrestling Danny Bonnaducci for the right to impregnate Susan Dey.

They've got a name for people like you H.I. That name is called "recidivism."

when i was living in n.cal i got an xcel.. yeah know to support the 808 and what not... like most people have said it's held up very well.. i've had it for about 4 years and its still super solid... granted i'm not in cold water every day even staying in NC but i've never had a problem with it and as others have said it costs a lot less than those other suits on the market.....
