I never associated with the frat boys, but I do remember the rest of that quote going downhill from there.

Anyways, do you think the Reds will be able to actually squash this little rebellion as easily as they squashed the Tibetans and Turkiks?

I don't have the best feeling for the protesters. The harder they are to squash the harder they potentially go down; their only saving grace may actually be how much more China is in the spot light to the rest of the world through the various social media outlets.

China communist party 70th anniversary is coming up in October. protesting continuing is bad for them. going in with force is bad for them. I'd bet Carrie Lam steps down and China tries to slip in another puppet without much fan fare

Quick, somebody give those boys an entry visa. They're not going to come over here and become bitter ingrates.

Anyone who counts passing through an airport terminal as visiting a country is a fookin poser dotard. IMO you need to at least pass immigration and step foot on ground outside of the airport for it to "count".

I did 2 nights in Hong Kong last January. While certainly different, it's so westernized that I would have a hard time calling it China.

I been to China Beijing, Shentangyu, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macao.

Beijing more security cameras than I seen in all cities in America combined. Got in trouble taking photo of soldier. No allowance. Forced to delete images in front of military guards. Also, worst air quality to breath in world. Worse than Mexico City I felt heavy chest. Palace is amazing architecture.

Shentangyu, so beautiful but smog from Beijing ruin the views.

Shenzhen like tech city of future. 100's very large high tech companies there. From small fishing village to Silicon Valley of China.

Hong Kong, so beautiful and western as any city of US. Very friendly people, fun night clubs to dance and meet other people from all the world. Much freedom. Seen many professional models in clubs from Russia and all Europe. Also, lots of Lamborghinis and supercars. Lots of money as the financial hub of great east. Felt like very America like Chicago or NY, but more money. Hole in buildings called dragon gates. Don't block dragon path!

Macao, take fast hydroboat at night to gamble. Just like Vegas. Same big casino with some different games.
