Don't bring up a side topic. Just give an up or down vote. Are the tariffs working or are they not working? Please explain your answer.

It took a long time for the current situations to evolve and it will take some time for them to adjust however much they're going to adjust.

$6,000 hiccup for two days in my accounts but bounced back a bit yesterday and today and expect a full bounce back and then some in the coming weeks/months. In it for the long haul so its nothing I'm worried about. No real effect on my day to day.

$6k doesn't really mean anything. What was the percentage of the hiccup?

Small. Money is spread out pretty good.

the 9/1 tariff impact isn't really going hit your equity account until October and January when corporate earnings are reported.

re: market talk

equities remain near all time highs.

the bottom on treasury yields though has literally fallen out. gold is launching. treasury yields falling and gold launching is not consistent with a stock bull market.

someone is offsides here and badly.

Trump wrecks companies.

Why wouldn't he do the same to the US.

What's different?

Certainly not him.

Rashness can lead to advantage in the short term but will ultimately lead to catastrophe in the long term.

I tried to tell you dummies and you mocked me.

China can wait out the election to see what they need to do (I mean the guy is president for life).

Trump re-elected and they'll be wishing they had a do-over.

Either way, I'm sure the american taxpayer gets the brunt of it.

China is in a position of power here. I’d be surprised if they blink first.

China isn't the only source of low cost labor these days. They need to be mindful of what happens if/when US companies find alternate vendors elsewhere. Once they lose that market share it's gone for good.

Not to mention, they're rapidly running out of young people to fill all these factory jobs.

On a related note, I just got a smoking deal on a Swedish bike helmet that was hecho'd en Chine!

Some people insist on a fight. They're deranged, but okay, we'll go back farther..... Does this chart curve upward or downward?

However, it's ALWAYS been my contention that the House of Representatives has more influence over the economy because they hold the purse strings. The House's effect is delayed about a year as the House prepares budgets ahead of time. The exception is when presidents stifle the economy with regulations and mandates .....like Obama did.

Cheeto's war on farmers isn't over yet. Still to add is the "public charge" policy against immigration which really hits farm worker who need that type of assistance due to the low paying agriculture jobs.

Having trouble feeling any sympathy for them, voting has consequences.

"Farmers" are by and large huge, rich corporations that you guys usually want to tax to hell to get your "fair share"
