Hopefully will be on time coming to/from Atlanta and will get to speak to someone in person there to recoup my scrilla.

Did you ask to speak to a supervisor and present this link?

https://news.delta.com/checked-sporting-equipment-will-fly-less-delta

Please report back. I would have been livid.

I didn't, just stashed the receipt. I get superstitious about bags and I think I will recoup with receipt. I did try in Atlanta, and they didn't know anything either. I am going to go back with this link now.

No luck, those desks appear to be for connection snafus. They told me I could get on the service phone and call reservations, and my flight appears to be ready to board in minutes.

Email customer service/complaints from your destination.

Send an image of your receipt and link that I posted.

Explain you are very concerned not only that you were charged the $150 but fear you will again be charged $150 on the return, thus totaling $300.

No response within a 2 business days? You'll need to get their attention. Send info to BeachGrit, Stab, and TheInertia.

Because TheInertia shows up in the Google News aggregate.

And that's the only reason why.

Isn't spirit $100. per bag, with multiple boards in it--just can't be too heavy?

I know jetblue just jacked their surfboard charges from $50 per board to $100 per. Ridiculous.

Didn't feel like cracking the computer for anything other than work. Followed up again in Atlanta, got an 800 number. Sat on hold for 30 fooking minutes to give my ticket number and now I'm on fooking hold again. Pretty sure I might have to hang up to board before I finally can ask WTF is going on.

I think I booked travel before the date, but my guess is people that didn't are still getting hit up, because precisely 0 people knew WTF I was talking about, anywhere. I referred the link Casa provided to the person at the desk in Atlanta, and that was the first she heard of it.

IMHO not a smooth rollout, and when I needed to book this ticket and wasted over an hour trying to get their website to let me do it (no lie, could not f-----g book through website got animated gif for 10 minutes and then timeout like 3-4 separate times, had to make a phone call) I got a callback and was done within 15 minutes.

Literally just heard back from the first person that they are "getting their ducks in a row" and can I go back on hold some more. I told them yeah but only ten more minutes.

i flew home from Maui after the change on Delta and the counter person hammered me. I had the page up on my phone to show her and she showed me a paper print out with older dates.

She was nice about it but I ended up paying almost $400 to get my stuff home.

Came home and contacted Delta with my issue. After some amazing CS they refunded ALL my money.

So I bought on the 12th, guess 17th was applicable. Going to try the complaints link and plead my case. 40+ minutes to get the complaints reference.

My advice for anyone who did book after July 17th is to have that website Casa referenced handy, because nobody I asked had even heard about this, and I could be wrong, but I doubt, given that, they will only hit you for $30.

Also there are some disclaimers about carriers and whatnot, so if it's operated by aero mexico littoral or some such, don't count on coolness.
