My wife likes the podcast.

Hell, he just had Abby Martin on.

To be fair Lazar said repeatedly that what he observed (supposedly) was scientifically impossible.

So trying to discredit him by saying what he described is impossible doesn’t really work.

Bobby has had a lot of time to perfect his story. Hypothetically, if he was filmed the first time he ever tried to explain what he just did on Rogan's pod it would have been much less polished and not as collected/calm/etc. He's had decades to develop his delivery.

is this Corbell guy the worst ever?

you could see Rogan trying to shut him down and the rube
kept coming back to correct the record and amend previous
comments.

painful.

I'm so aware of my own bias in this whole thing that I can't fully believe Lazar until I see proof with my own two eyes. I.e. I want so badly to fly around with a gravity-powered vehicle and live in a post-SoCal Traffic Utopia that I can't trust any unsubstantiated claims that such vehicles exist, however compelling the claims may be.

That said, listening to that episode sent me cracking open my engineering textbooks again, looking for clues, despite my having no real education in particle physics or relativity.

Can you guys imagine if such vehicles existed? Borders / nations would be pointless. Security, a thing of the past. I could live wherever I pleased, have lunch in Tokyo, meet my friend for a surf in Fiji, then sleep in a treehouse somewhere in a rainforest. The only thing keeping you from traveling to other planets would be navigation and safety.

I'm not sure if the problems they'd create would be larger or smaller than those created by the use of fossil fuels.

I don't quite grasp the point...is he saying that it was not a craft, but instead was a proton beam
they got video of and not an actual aircraft?

Well, said in the podcast something to the effect of if you get ahold of this tech and can reproduce it “you win”.

I think magical thinking is at play.

There is a razor that needs to be applied here. Can't remember which one.

I would be delighted if it was legit.

Though I don't think it would affect my life.

That is how I judge things.

A threat response is a potent trigger for motivated reasoning.

"People who are right a lot listen a lot, and they change their mind a lot. . . . . They wake up and reanalyze things and change their mind. If you don't change your mind frequently, you're going to be wrong a lot."

There is a striking resemblance between Lazar's story and the 80s Disney film, Flight of the Navigator. I just remembered the film, because it was one of my favorites as a kid.

Watching it right now.

OMG, Sarah Jessica Parker is in this. She's explaining music videos to a child. And androgyny in the 80s.
