The fact you would even think it would have the potential to bother (who thinks like that? lol) you indicates it bothers you.

At least a little bit.

Kinda like you always screeching about Gay/Trans issues?

Why do you keep posting in a fathers day thread?

No, I'm not going to go digging.

You seemed perplexed at the idea the family is in disarray and that it's a negative.

I used to think it wasn't a great idea for two dudes to adopt a kid.
Now I think the family is so fcked thank god those two dudes have provided a stable environment for a child.

Parenting is hard, even in the most ideal of situations. Having a partner in raising a child in a stable, loving environment is going to have a better chance at "success" than the alternatives. But life is far from ideal.

I have nothing but respect for single parents, it is a 24/7 job.

Except the people who usually are screeching the loudest about being a "single parent" are only single parents for a portion of the time while the person they bred with has the kids the other portion. Those "single parents" have multiple days off to themselves.

Parents who are together have the kids 100% of the time

You probably have dealt with it more than I have, on campus and classrooms.

Where it all started.

If you say you haven't, you're lying.

I do deal with it more than you and I've bitched about it here, more than I should. For the most part I just do my work.

I also understand it is driven by the desire to control money at contract time. Teachers, even part timers, cost a lot of money.

Also, once the doors close in the classroom I do what I want.

The kids are smart. They know when you are joking around.

If they know I care about them, they will cut me slack if I say something untoward.

I'm only human.

But they know it.

This is all teaching moments.

Like I said before, teachers that did not stand up to the admins PC-SJW tactics have been the silent enablers in this whole White Privilege movement the last 20 some odd years when it was just a curious fad (or so we hoped).

You and others that just put their heads down and succumbed to admins near fascism over them (threats to fire and such) are also responsible for this whole mind-fookery going on in schools today. It started there, and it needs to end there, but no one wants to challenge it.

Some teachers agree with the propaganda, but some (probably more) don't. They don't want to rock the boat and/or risk losing their hard fought pensions in the future. So, nothing will change and propaganda, PC-SJW, white privilege indoctrination will continue.

Many people on Hawaii are just as conservative leaning as many people in California. It's the recent transplants from urban areas that tend to be not so, in both locations.

Urban and east/inland of the coastal regions (country) are 2 different worlds in California or the west in general. Coastal elites call them rednecks and hicks. I call them landowners with many acres, not postage stamp lot size McMansion owners like those near the coast.

I'm tolerant of liberal/progressive views/theories, but don't agree with many of them.

I don't get in people's faces in public about it, unless they get militant in my face about it, but it's rare I put myself in those situations and never at parties. I prefer to mediate if at all possible.

Hey, it's not "all your fault". shrug

It's a cumulative effect of many 1000's over many years, slowly chipping away at common sense and history.

Most did it to survive, probably not realizing the eventual impacts.

Unfortunately, that's how propaganda/indoctrination succeeds. Will we ever learn?

I think you are missing the point that control of $$$$$ is driving the over emphasis on identity politics.

It's motivated reasoning at work driven by the impulse to control resources.

If you are not starting there you are missing the point.

The Right hated teachers because education cost a lot of money.

It's always been that way.

What caught me by surprise is when the left came after educators.
