Which quads are best for tight shreds in the summer?

Not a super wide tailed board. Just the subtle cheats applied to my daily driver to make it a summer vehicle.

Futures recs, please.

Was thinking of starting out with the rusty set. Smaller quad rears but more raked and 50/50 foil. Another option would be Stamps which I found to fairly user friendly albeit drivey and stiff. Haven’t used the MB larges enough as a quad to have an opinion in small waves.

Confused by the difference in pairing the larger fronts with smaller rears. In that regard the Rusty have the biggest difference, Stamps the smallest and Mayhem somewhere in between.

How many bars of wax to wax that thing? How big is the leash for that monster? Who shaped it? So many questions. HAHA

I ended up making a 5'5" x 21.5" x 2.75 Simmons style board and I set it up as a quad, per my younger brother's (a production shaper) suggestion.

Any suggestions on fin sets?

The Machado split keel and the controller Alphas caught my eye.

those would probably work well. Ask your brother and post pitchers here

I had the 5-fin option on my last one, tried it as a quad multiple times and always went back to the thruster.

Grabbed a 5’11x20x2.32@ 31L Pyzel Ripoff a month or so ago for a steal. It’s been sitting in the garage until this past weekend. Tossed it in truck and took it out in some knee-thigh/waist incoming mush surrounded by loggers. Had a blast. Felt like a shortboard for junk with a motor on it. Generated so much speed and didn’t feel like a bloated groveler. Ran it with some AMT sides w/ small creatures trailer. Think my BF will be getting left home when grovel duties call. Had some actual surf here yesterday but alas work/kids win again.
