Yeah but its for all islands and confusing. Thats why I post links to specific deals and include the price. Even after they sell you can find an average price hopefully so new people can see if theyre getting a good or bad deal.

Any news on prototypes for 2020?

A few guys at my local have gone back to Naish L wings over newer tech wings, tired of "working" and going back to having "Fun."

Out of curiosity and in hopes of winning the lottery I emailed with signature. For me at 185# 6’1” prone surfing for a year they recommended the albatross 210 with a 750 mast. It would be roughly $1850 then 2-300 shipping to Los Angeles. Two to three week wait.. They said it’s good for the waves and the good pump makes it good for downwind also.

I did the same, really expensive. I think getting a used iwa gofoil for $800 is probably better.

I think we should see new good foils coming up before summer, Gofoil,I heard about a new Lift wing, Fone has got some nice foils as well, Cloud nine etc...

vid on the armstrong foils, some pretty generic info at parts but very nice looking gear indeed.

I've had 2 friends go to Axis and come back to GoFoil, they don't pump as good.

As good, or just different? Also that price is for the new high aspect wing. AKA pump wing as GoFoil calls it. So not really an apples to apples comparison I bet. (As I see it, they're all trying to compete with a signature albatross which is from what I can find online, the best pumping wing)

I don't know the answer's to any of those questions. I've only ridden one foil. The only other foiler's I know personally are Greg and Steamroller who I've seen in the water maybe 2 times each. (I don't count my sessions in the water with Laird as knowing him haha) You have access to a lot of stuff on Maui, yet you only ever talk about your personal gear, or prototypes you've been lent. Where are the other foil reviews? I'd love pro's and con's from your viewpoint of other stuff. Not fanboy reviews, just honest pro's and con's.

I was hoping foiltheworld would be able to provide that when he did a MFC unboxing video, but then he didn't even ride the thing from what I could tell.

Hdip,
I like my Gofoil, but I like it more after cutting bits off the stabs and moving to the 29.5” mast. Without doing a bit of DIY, the ardour would have waned a while ago. I’m committed now, no turning back.

I can see how the high aspect wings would be a huge improvement in some respects, and I will either make one or refuckulate an Axis 900 onto my setup if the Gofoil one doesn’t come soon....

Regarding the Axis foils...I haven’t ridden yet, but I have a couple of friends who are very good across surf foiling, and downwinding on sup and prone boards. They started when the Gofoil Kai was the only option and moved on to the Iwa and 200.

They have moved to Axis, and it seems like you can’t give Gofoil sets away atm. Nobody here is downwinding them, and the smaller Axis wings are highly regarded in the surf ... The reasons, which I can relate to are that the Gofoil wings are blimpy and very aggressively lifty and get scary and uncontrollable in downwind conditions (or spicey surf). The Axis is a bit harder to get on the foil but is smoother and more dependable at high speeds, or so I’m told. It is nice to be able to change between more than 2 mast sizes too, and the Axis setup is super stiff. Lots of wings to choose from and stabs too. They pump just fine, you just have to get used to them.

Both the setups I’ve talked about have pros and cons, and their own personalities. Seems to me enjoyment of foiling is all about physics, fitness and disposable income..
