you know how to get it out - right? hold tail against lower abdomen area and pull like hell on the fin towards you

bang it with a rubber mallet

a bonzer center fin I thought was completely stuck came out so easy after I had it in the water...

don't have any real good advice - i hate this problem - get a deburring tool and scrape the box next time before installing - make sure the fin goes in and out easily.

put some body english into it and it will come out. Ive had some incredibly tough ones, little nubsters.....

You can remove grub and use pressurized air from a compressor and that helps also.

I like tight fits so sanding etc. doesn't work for me.

Not sure if this will work on a surfboard but you can try getting it cold and see if it'll come out. If anything contracts at all it'll probably come out easier.

I try to rinse my boards (particularly the fin area) thoroughly to avoid this. Salt seems make them get stuck. Glad you got it out. In the future (pun!) try putting vinegar along the base and wait a few minutes.

Same here.
After surf I always, at least rinse fins & leash swivels

Nobody surfs here anymore..........it's too crowded

Going to file this here vinegar tip away for future use; my futures boxes are all very tight fits and if I surf once getting them out requires some effort, and if I don't wipe off the fin bases and the boxes nothing is going back in.

Rinsing is a good tip, sadly I live in god forsaken Nj and the hoses are turned off. I also used a few drops of dish soap seemed to help.

Coupla hits from a well-heeled shoe usually does the trick for me! Just aim for the top 1/4 of the fin, and hold the board securely on a cushion or something soft.
