Get tough on Russia by opening the door to nuclear proliferation? And canceling sanctions?

Much cheaper and more efficient than playing hegemon and putting troops everywhere. Also reduces the need for treaty entrapment

Yes, violating the deal should in fact lead to full cancellation, because why try to have any control when you can have none!

Put another way - we think Putin is cheating a little, so we'll show him and let him do anything he wants!

Do intermediate range missiles even matter anymore in this age of ICBMs?

Good twist, you're very skillful at making things go your way

How many NPCs even knew there was an intermediate range treaty before this morning?

Do any of you realize intermediate range means just Europe and not the US Homeland?

Yes.

We don't need more of these, but Russia does.

So ultimately, we're going to allow Russia to build new missiles which will scare Europe, who will want more missiles.

With Iran and NK, we seem willing to go to war to stop them from getting weapons, but in Europe we seem intent on letting countries build their stockpiles. Makes total sense.

Where am I wrong?

Isn't that what we're doing? We think he's cheating some so instead of pushing on them to comply, we're just going to end the deal all together.

It's like catching your teenage daughter in bed with an older guy - you could chase him out with a bat in your hand or you can hand him some condoms. Trump just handed Putin a box of Trojans.

To the same extent they will going forward? I don't think so.

Either way, I hope Trump really cracks down on Russia for this - maybe he can lift sanctions or something to really show them!

You really don't get how this works do you?

Americans like to think we play by the rules, Russia breaks the rules, so we change the rules so we can continue to compete without breaking the rules

I guess the other option is to clamor to punish Russia like you red scared nancies do for every other thing Russia allegedly does

If Europe gets scared, let them take care of themselves We don't run Europe

And I guarantee virtually zero of the NPCs knew anything about this treaty before this morning
