We should open The Ranch to the public.

Yeah, thats what we should do.

The A-List spots at the Ranch looked pretty much like that 15 years ago.

There are just as many people at Pipe now every swell, but somehow there arent five guys taking off on every wave. I wonder what the difference is? I always just figured to people who surf Swamis must not have any problem with how things work out there, otherwise theyd do something about it.

Pipe more crowded...

...but ultimately, it takes care of itself.

Shouldn't this be on the thread about why someone quit surfing to take up golf?

In my travels to California I have checked Swami's a few times but I've never been tempted to paddle out. I've never seen it good enough to justify the number of people. Also seems to attract young people who use foam as a crutch to mask a lack of ability. Crowded Salt Creek looks more fun.

JEwing, were you shooting from the corner near the bathrooms? I was down there last night, too. Unreal amount of guys out. Could nice sets, but waay too dangerous with that many guys.

I watched Swarmies. Fun looking surf. Saw a three person wave.

I switched over to Delray Beach. Knee-thigh high mushouts; saw four people go.

My daughter in law has a younger sister (15) who's just getting into surfing and she's been going with her friend and the dad to Swami's to surf. I kinda over-reacted to hearing that and mentioned that novices should really avoid that spot and move down the beach a bit to less packed conditions. I dunno what the dad is thinking.
