Hey,

Recently got a performance fish type of board (tail and is quite pulled in), running it with the Stretch fins at that stage, they are good when the waves have some size and good push but in smaller/ slower waves I don't get much speed.

I m 185 pounds, feels like they are too small. Any bigger guy here running quad on their board ? (not on their groveller super wide tail thou).

Im about your weight and the Von Sol Stilettos work well for me in shorter fatter boards. Its a great set for small to medium waves and 6 boards or a few inches either way.
I use the fronts paired with smaller rears in bigger waves with longer boards.

Im 180-185 and use K2.1 quad set on round pins and AM2 quad set on wider tail boards.

Another thing thats working really well with narrow tails is AMT (twin fins) in the front and nubsters in the quad rears.

It works really well on certain boards. Especially full nosed and narrow tails.

Interesting design, but they dont seem to sell them in OZ... I dont quite understand why for most quad there is only one size, for thruster you have S M L but for quads it s not as flexible.

I like that message ! I actually have the AMT so it s a good start and my board ( gary mcneil cv2) has a wide nose and narrow tail. https://www.instagram.com/p/BoOWeJ9HORC/

For the nubsters you just get 2 that you would usually use as a thruster ?

Futures? FCS?

I like upright rears. Less rake for more pivot. Im 190ish. Duffys advice is solid. I was actually planning to run my AMT fins up front with super small rears in my Mandala asq in a few months when Im recovered from back surgery.

I like Futures controllers and stretch buzztrollers. I use the rears of both sets with a few diff combos in the front.

If you have futures, I get custom fins with the fin in the front of the box for the rears. Martial Crum turned me on to that. I strongly prefer. If you can find someone who makes fins close to you, Futures rear boxes offer lots of options due to the length of the box.

Good luck! Pick up used fins and experiment. For me, in quads, fins make a MASSIVE difference in a boards performance.

this board was a Frankenstein setup with a grovler nose shaped into a gun tail. Sort of a failed attempt at a CI Deep Six. Board was crap as a thruster, crap as a quad (in all 8-10 configurations I tried). The quad rear plugs are really close together and the outside in would always be engaged in the water during bottom and top turns so it would track.

I put bonzer side fins in the rear with the twins up front and that wasnt quite right so I put the nubs in and now its magic.

It was inspired by Davey Smith with his experiments of using lines of numbsters (3-4 on each side) on twin fins and then Tom Curren told me to ride my Wizard Sleeve as a twin fin.

I ended up doing the nub/twin combo on the wizard sleeve but it just works better with K2.1 quad set.

The Frankenstein board love the Frankenstein fin setup....

This morning I actually switched the Stretch front for the AMT in front while keeping the Stretch rear. It fell ok but I didn't get enough waves to judge yet. What fins did you run on the CV2 ?
