Cool, stu. My only experience was a pow day about ten years ago and they didn't have the whole mountain open so it was busy with wet snow. Definitely want to go back. Just texted my wife and she got all excited lol.

What's cool about the snow is it's something we can all do together which is pretty cool... well unless there's powder, then Mom is staying with the kids!

My wife wants to do a June trip cause kids are free.

In exchange for not dragging her to the mountain, my wife pretty much gave me a standing hall pass for when there is a good powder day at one of the other local mountains. jam_on

For farting around with the kids on the bunny slopes, there is literally no difference between Snow Valley and Aspen. Well, except the price and SV is less douchey.

June is chill. Only been there once a long time ago but it was fun. Good family-style resort. Hopefully it hasn't become the wannabe-destination resort Mammoth has become (no, I am not a fan at all of how much they sold out).

This thread needs more eye candy. computer

Never fully realized why this shot ended up being one of my favorites over the last few years until I realized that this was March 2017, nearing the end of a historic season for snowfall totals in the West. We set the snowiest January on record that season and got snowed into Mammoth in the process.

By March, the base depth had to be at its peak, and you can tell by how awesome the mountains in the background look here. Wife dropping an empty black run on a perfect Spring day. Just for fun, I wont name the spot. heh heh.

Whats the word on those Jones + CC boards? Anyone like them?

Have the flagship and its great for bombing. Thinking about something with a bit more flex for carving the slower days on the groomers with a big group.

Also, whats the word on Union Atlas bindings? Those what I want?

Worried Falcor may be too sensitive. Want to soften up the ride a bit on the flagship. Day 3 chudder from last year is still on my mind.

the Falcor's are stiff! seen them at Evo, but they're light. even lighter are the Jones bindings that Now makes. Union Altas look to be a step up from the Forces which I have and worked plenty fine on my old flagship.

I guess in the same vein how are the burton cartel bindings?

My old Burton CO2 bindings have quite a few days on them but the tech on them still seems above the $300 tier. How important is the hammock high back that burton uses? Im used to that, for example but its on their high end stuff only.

I feel like my current bindings have to be toast but at the same time I have no idea how to tell if they are.

Have the Falcors on a Jones Aviator (first pic in this thread). I've always ridden stiff boots / bindings / boards, so it doesn't bother me... Plus I'd rather have the peace of mind knowing the hardware isn't the issue when I charge.

This works because my approach to Snowboarding is all Moto and no Skate. shrug

Bindings are funny. They can go so long, or break early.

If I see any signs of things coming apart... the fabric type materials shredding or peeling, or the hard / plastic parts cracking, it may be time to replace.

In general I'd say 100 days is a good amount of time to get out of any pair of boots / bindings, but I've seen hard goods fail at ~50 days, so ya never know.

Yeah Im right in that somewhere between 50-100days type use on the current set. Boots and board have been replaced while these chugged on. I dont remember them creaking this much in the past. But, the high backs never broke and I replaced the straps since one of the toe straps where I unclip for chairs was all chewed up.

May just pull the trigger on those Atlas bindings. Lots of 2018 stuff starting to get marked down already.

Heres what Im currently working with. https://thegoodride.com/snowboard-binding-reviews/burton-co2-review-and-buying-advice/

My cartels are awesome and have held up extremely well. Boot are soft and worn out though, I just don't want to make purchase since I don't ride that much.

Falcors are nice. Light and responsive.

Spent a couple days at Big Sky last week and had an awesome time. I actually crashed at Waterbaby and GD's place the first night and had a nice visit. They say hi!

Once my 4 coworkers landed, we headed off to the condo we rented about 15 minutes from the mountain. We had one hell of a tour guide with one of the guy's brother who works at the resort. Big Sky definitely needs more of a base, I put plenty of fresh scratches on my board but nothing serious. Overall it was an amazing mountain to explore.

Back in Pioneer for the evening and hitting up Kirkwood this weekend.

From the back door of the condo in MT.

Well, what's the report? I am on Blackcomb right now, been a fun week with the family up here. Supposed to dump overnight. Anyone else scoring?

Got some trips lined up. I think Ill just go falcors. Are union bindings actually made Italy? Starting to realize how over priced burton can be when going near the top of their lineup. Id rather be able to charge. Wont be too vicious on the days where you know your skunked?

Its too easy to just go to Utah, I have to say. Hoping I dont get skunked like last year. End of the day on the Flagship was rough in crap snow. Amazing board when on, however.

SMT - Spent 2 full days basically only doing 7th Heaven runs a couple years back. Near waist deep in some areas. Full send with no fear. Love that run when its on.
